Nothing is repaired until you agree. We're family owned and operated. We service most major brands, like Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Maytag.
Magna took the worst of Utah’s magnitude 5.7 earthquake on March 18, 2020. The state says the epicenter was north of Magna, and the most severe damage was in Magna. More than 2,500 aftershocks followed. The state also says a magnitude 5.5 or larger quake hits the Wasatch Front about once every two decades. The risk of a far bigger one, magnitude 7 or more, hasn’t changed. So the answers below cover getting your appliances ready for the next one, and checking them after.

Magna questions
Answered from public sources, not Dash's own jobs.
Should I strap my fridge to the wall?
It’s worth it here. Ready.gov lists refrigerators among the heavy things to secure before an earthquake. The Earthquake Country Alliance says a fridge can hurt someone by moving or tipping over, and can spill what’s inside. Its fix is flexible earthquake appliance straps from a hardware store. Fasten them at the top, or on the sides about two-thirds of the way up. Find the studs behind the fridge with a stud finder, and screw each strap into one. A fridge built into cabinets most likely won’t tip, it says.

My fridge tipped over in a quake. Can I plug it straight back in?
Not before it’s checked. GE’s moving instructions cover a fridge carried on its side, not one that fell. They say to stand it upright for as long as it was down before you plug it in, or 24 hours if it was down more than a day. GE also says French-door and bottom-freezer models must always stay upright. After a fall, have the fridge looked at before you run it.

What should I check on my appliances after a quake?
Look for water first. Ready.gov lists leaking water lines among the hazards after an earthquake. Check the thin line that feeds the fridge’s ice maker, both hoses behind the washer and the floor around the dishwasher. Check again after aftershocks. Ready.gov says to expect them, and Magna had more than 2,500 after the 2020 quake. And look at your insurance before the next one: Ready.gov says a standard homeowner’s policy doesn’t cover earthquake damage.
