How we serve White City
Dash repairs appliances all over White City, from Galena Drive to the streets by Big Bear Park and Dimple Dell. The technician diagnoses the fault, then names one flat price. Work starts only after you agree to it. We're family owned and operated. We service most major brands, like Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Maytag.
White City is an island inside Sandy: Sandy surrounds it on every side. But White City’s water and garbage don’t come from Sandy City. Most homes get their water from the White City Water Improvement District, which pumps it from deep wells of its own. Trash pickup belongs to the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District. So when an appliance leaks, backs up a drain or needs hauling away, the rules below are the ones that count here.

White City questions
Answered from public sources, not Dash's own jobs.
A hose burst behind the washer. Where do we shut off the water?
Start with the washer’s own water supply valves, which Whirlpool says are usually behind it. If you can’t reach them, or they won’t turn, close your home’s main shut-off valve. The White City Water Improvement District’s rules keep customers out of the meter box. They allow it only in an emergency or with the district’s permission. The district looks after the meter, and everything past it is the owner’s. Its freeze checklist says to know where your main shut-off valve is. Find yours before you need it.

Water comes up the floor drain when the washer empties. Who pays to fix the sewer pipe?
Call the sewer district first. White City’s is Sandy Suburban Improvement District, and it takes backup calls around the clock. It checks whether the trouble is in its main or in your lateral, the pipe that carries your home’s sewage out to it. The district says fixing a lateral has always been the owner’s job, and that homeowners insurance doesn’t cover it. Ask your insurer what your own policy covers. But since 2014, its lateral program has paid for that work for the single-family homes it serves. That covers clogs, tree roots, repairs and a whole new line, up to $15,000, with no deductible. It doesn’t pay to clean up after a backup, or for earthquake damage.

Can we take an old washer or dryer to the landfill for free?
Yes, with a voucher from the garbage district. White City’s trash goes to the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District, so Sandy’s Bulk Waste pickup isn’t for you. The district’s vouchers waive the fee at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill or the Trans-Jordan Landfill. Fill out its online form, then show the voucher on your phone or on paper. It works for a car, SUV, pickup up to 1 ton or a trailer you unload by hand, and the load has to be covered. It won’t cover a fridge, freezer or anything else with Freon. The district picks those up from the curb, for a fee.
